As the WORM project reaches its conclusion, we are proud to release our final brochure, which brings together the project’s key insights and outcomes after two years of collaborative work on sustainable waste management solutions for the humanitarian sector.
This brochure provides a comprehensive overview of the project’s scope and achievements, including:
- Key figures summarising the project’s impact and main milestones
- Policy briefs designed to support decision-making and the adoption of circular solutions in humanitarian contexts
- Highlights from our local awareness campaigns in Kenya and Vietnam, where WORM promoted responsible waste practices and capacity-building
The WORM project’s ambition has been to rethink the way waste is managed in humanitarian contexts, from field hospitals to humanitarian livelihood programmes with a waste picking component, by introducing bio-based materials, circular approaches, and practical tools for field implementation.

The final brochure serves as a lasting resource, capturing the lessons learned, key achievements, and knowledge generated throughout the project. It aims to ensure that WORM’s contribution continues to support sustainable and circular waste management long after the project’s lifetime.
